BGS 3rd grader takes home 57 ribbons at WP Fair
Stuart Slade, Matt Pierce and Rabecca Sumrall recently participated in the FFA parish contest at Franklinton High School. Rabecca placed in the Creed speech and Stuart placed in public speaking. Both students are eligible to compete at the District level. BGS is proud of all three FFA students!

Bowling Green Students Shine at Southeastern District Rally
Bowling Green students recently participated in the literary rally at Southeastern. Three students, Konnor Adams, CK Creel, and Bryce King, won $100 scholarships for their outstanding 1st place efforts and 9 students will be participating in the LSU state rally at the end of April.

Bowling Green Junior Receives the Tulane University Book Award
Morgan Boone, daughter of Jackie and Robert Boone, received the Tulane University Book Award for her outstanding leadership abilities and academic excellence.
Bowling Green Students Excel at Science Fair
Daniel Bischoff (7th grade) and Devin Smith (9th grade) recently participated in the district and state MAIS Science Fairs. Bischoff and Smith both won 1st place at the district fair and then competed this month in the state fair at Mississippi State University. Bischoff, the son and Bill and
Denise Bischoff, placed 3rd in the engineering division of the state fair. Smith, son of Moby and Monica Smith, also placed 3rd in the state competition with his entry in the physics division. Both students did an outstanding job while competing against 433 other students from Mississippi and Louisiana.

Bowling Green Shows Off Their Artistic Side
Several elementary stduents recently participated in the MAIS Art Competition.

Bowling Green 4th grader, Adam McCann, recently won the MAIS District Spelling Bee. He also competed in the MAIS state bee in Jackson last week and did a fabulous job.
BGS Students Enjoy Rock 'n Roar

Conducted as part of the District Literary Rally, Rock 'n Roar this year attracted more than 2,900 area high school students to the rally and approximately 1,000 others from area communities.

Bowling Green Senior Jer-Rel Mark recently signed with Colin Community College to pitch for the Wolves next season. Joining him for his signing are (Back Row L-R) Bowling Green Principal Beverly Young, BGS baseball coach Matt Sessions, Jer-Rel's sister Khadijah Mark and stepfather Eddie James. Bowling Green senior Dache' Passman has signed to play softball with Pearl River Community College. Dache' is a member of the Lady Bucs softball and basketball teams and has enjoyed a successful career at BGS. Bowling Green Buccaneer Rashad "Shod" Fortenberry has committed to play football for Tommy Tuberville's Texas Tech Red Raiders. Fortenberry has been at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and was an All-State selection. Fortenberry, who lettered in football and basketball at Bowling Green, is projected to play offensive tackle for the Red Raiders. He picked Tech over offers from South Florida, Louisiana-Lafayette and Middle Tennessee State. Fortenberry is expected to be a January enrollee at the Lubbock, Texas school.
